Piero Scapini – President

Piero holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering by Politecnico of Milan.

He started working as an offshore platform specialist and project engineer in Tecnomare, then as Project Manager in air conditioning in Simcon. In 1993, he joined CCT, a leading Italian supplier of boilers, with the responsibility as Project Manager, Product Manager and Sales Director.

In 2001 he was assigned the role of General Director of the newly established NOOTER/ERIKSEN-CCT and then in 2005 became Managing Director of NOOTER/ERIKSEN Srl. Since 2015 Piero has served on the board of CIC Group and in 2018 he became the President of NOOTER/ERIKSEN globally.

Matt Burns – Executive Vice President

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

Matt was promoted to Executive Vice President in November, 2021 and since 2024 Matt has served on the CIC Board.

He was named Vice President of Sales and Operations in 2019 overseeing the Sales, Projects, and Global Sourcing departments as well as Human Resources. Matt has also served on NOOTER/ERIKSEN’s Executive Committee since 2017.

He was previously Director of Sales from 2014-2019. Matt started his career as an Estimating Engineer with NOOTER/ERIKSEN and quickly advanced to a Senior International Sales Engineer position. In this role, he spent seven years in Italy navigating active business segments in EMEA, Central Asia, and South America.

Additionally, Matt has held other roles in the organization as Project Manager, Manager of European Sales, Director of Sales, and Vice President of Sales.

Darla Gavin – Vice President of Technology

Darla has been working for the NOOTER/CIC family of companies since 1988 primarily at NOOTER/ERIKSEN where she started in the process design group. At that time N/E was less than 50 employees and a large HRSG was 40-100 MWs. N/E grew with the industry and became one of the top HRSG companies in the world working with the most complex turbines, catalysts, burners, fuels, and advanced materials.

In 1999, Darla transferred to Sales and became proficient at developing customer relationships, negotiating contracts, improving estimation processes, working with international customers, and managing a sales department. In 2017 she moved from the Director of Sales to VP of Operations and is currently the VP of Technology. Her current responsibilities include oversight of Engineering and Thermal Design, Finance, Quality/Supply Management, and Aftermarket.

Darla holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla.

Hallie Shin – Vice President of Sales

Hallie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois.

Hallie was promoted to Vice President of Sales in March 2023. As of March 2024, she now serves on NOOTER/ERIKSEN’s Executive Committee. In addition to Hallie’s previous responsibilities, she now oversees the Specialty Products business unit.

Hallie was named Director of Sales in 2019 overseeing the Sales and Estimating teams. Prior to this, Hallie spent 13 years in various Sales roles. In addition to Hallie’s extensive time in the sales department, she started her career as a Thermal Design Engineer and moved into a Product Testing and Development Engineering role. In this role, Hallie traveled extensively providing technical support and commissioning on various job sites. She then spent two years as a Field Service Engineer before moving into her career in sales.

Marco Perini – Managing Director

Marco holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He began his career in the industry in 1993 and joined Nooter/Eriksen–CCT as a Project Manager in 2001. 

In 2005, he was appointed Manager of Projects and later promoted to Director of Operations, where he played a key role in optimizing project execution and enhancing operational efficiency across the organization. Since 2024, Marco has also served on the Board of CIC Group Inc., contributing to group-level direction and corporate initiatives.

In 2025, he was appointed Managing Director of Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l. currently overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations—from strategic planning and financial oversight to organizational development and long-term sustainability.

Massimo Carpi – General Director

Massimo holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Production Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
He began his career in 1997 at CCT, a leading Italian boiler supplier, as Controller. He joined Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l. in 2006 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2010, a role he held until the end of 2024, playing a key role in the company’s strategic and financial development. Since 2012, Massimo has also been a member of the Board of Directors, contributing to the company’s long-term vision and governance.

In 2025, he was appointed General Director of Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l., with the responsibility of leading the organization and driving its sustainable growth.

LAURA ZOCCHI – DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Production Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. She began her career in 1997 at the Italian office of ABB/Alstom and joined Nooter/Eriksen–CCT as a Project Manager in 2003.

In this role, she led complex international projects and strengthened her expertise in engineering and project execution—experience that positioned her to take on the role of Manager of Projects at Nooter/Eriksen Inc. in St. Louis in 2019, where she contributed to strategic initiatives across the company’s global operations.

Following her return to the Italian office in 2020, Laura took on the role of Director of Operations at Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l., where she leads project management, detailed engineering and construction and commissioning teams. She plays a key role in the company improving operational efficiency and enhancing project results.

ALESSANDRO PIGNI – SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR

Alessandro holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Università Cattolica, Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from MIP, Politecnico di Milano.

He has gained significant international experience in the energy, chemical, and oil & gas industries, holding both technical and senior commercial roles. Prior to joining Nooter/Eriksen, he served as Commercial Director at Siirtec Nigi, where he was responsible for leading global commercial operations.

Alessandro joined Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l. in 2016 as Commercial Director. In this role, he leads the company’s commercial strategy, oversees business development activities, and fosters high-level partnerships to drive sustainable growth and reinforce Nooter/Eriksen’s leadership in international markets.

ROBERTO LAQUINTANA – WARRANTY AND AFTERMARKET DIRECTOR

Roberto holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and an MBA from Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. He began his career in 1992 at ABB Combustion Engineering, where he developed strong technical expertise and gained extensive international experience across a wide range of global projects.

In 2005, he joined Nooter/Eriksen–CCT as Manager of the Thermal & Commissioning Department, leading multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the successful execution of several key projects in Europe and the Middle East.

Since 2010, Roberto has held the role of Director of Warranty and Aftermarket at Nooter/Eriksen S.r.l., where he is responsible for the organization and development of the department. He oversees all activities, including warranty management, aftermarket sales and business development, and project execution, with a focus on delivering reliable and sustainable solutions to customers while supporting the company’s growth.
